Day 1. Bucharest – Urlati (150 km)

In the morning we will pick you up from Bucharest and start our journey together towards the famous vineyards of Dealu Mare and Tohani.

The town of Urlati is our next destination. Here we will discover beautifully preserved manors with a remarkable wine tradition and culture: we will visit first Bellu Manor, which is now a wonderful museum preserving local history and culture.  The Wine Cellar Museum in this area is also a must see for anyone passionate about wine and wine history.

We will start this tour right by visiting some great wine cellars and trying some amazing local wines. Lacerta Manor and Wine Cellar is most definitely one of our favorites. Here we will learn about wine producing and tools and get to taste some of their award winning wines.

No one can drink to much without a good meal! We will enjoy the Lunch break in a wonderful local restaurant, serving great quality traditional foods, and of course, offering a great wine variety as well.

We will spend the evening and night in this beautiful and pure wine region.

Day 2. Urlati – Moeciu ( 170 km)

Today we will visit some of the richest nobles residences in Romania, not only manors, but this time also castles.

Once we enter the mountain region the air changes and beautiful landscapes welcome us. Here we will first visit Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni, a castle that gained popularity in the last years due to its great location and splendid architecture and decoration.

The city of Sinaia houses the most beautiful castles in Romania, built here by the royal family beginning with the end of  the XIX century.  We will visit here the extraordinary Peles Castle and its smaller brother, the Pelisor Castle.

After lunch it’s time to enjoy a glass or two of sparkling wine in a famous cellar on Prahova Valley designated “Supplier of His Majesty King Michael the First”. At the Rhein Cellars in Azuga  we will have the chance to learn about the vine growing process and taste this great wine.

In the afternoon we shall visit Romania’s most famous castle, Bran Castle or also known as Dracula Castle. Apart from being known as former (or present) residence of the famous vampire, the castle was also one of the Royal family’s residences.

We will spend the night in the picturesque village of Moeciu.

Day 3. Moeciu – Horezu (240 km)

Today we shall cross the mountains again and enter the historical region of Oltenia where the traditional manors named “cule” were best preserved.

First we will stop in Campulung Muscel and visit an authentic manor, a beautiful vila in neo-romanian style, now ethnographic museum of Campulung.

Next we will head towards Curtea de Arges where one of the most remarkable monasteries in Romania awaits to be discovered. The monastery is also the place where the members of the royal family were buried.

In the afternoon we will visit one of Oltenia’s highly appreciated  vineyards. At the Stirbey cellar we will learn about a successful vine business and taste the best of it in a special environment.

In the evening after dinner we will drive to our manor-hotel in Horezu, a former manor that was restored and properly equipped for accommodation.

Day 4. Horezu – Bucharest ( 220 km)

This is our last day of tour meant to unravel other beauties of Oltenia and a monumental palace near the capital Bucharest.

In the morning we will visit the Maldaresti Cule, traditional oltenian houses built in the form of a tower.

Afer that comes a short visit in the town of Horezu famous for its original ceramics.
